Air quality here is mostly a duct and filter problem
The real shift at A-One came when homeowners started asking two hard questions: why are my energy bills so high, and why is the air in my own house making us sick. The shop did not want to patch symptoms. It invested in training and equipment for blower door testing and duct leakage testing, so the cause of a comfort or dust problem gets found before anything is sold.
In the Tri-Cities that cause is very often the air path itself. This is dry shrub-steppe country with steady wind, harvest dust and a wildfire smoke season, so filters and ducts load up fast. A leaking return trunk in a hot attic pulls that dust and insulation fibre straight into the system, and a crushed flex run leaves the far bedroom behind the thermostat all summer.

Air purifiers and system sterilizers, and what they do
A-One also fits air purifiers and system sterilizers. The purifiers range from a single room unit to a whole-house unit built into the HVAC system. The sterilizer type sits at the air handler and treats the air with ultraviolet light and a hydro-peroxide plasma that travels through the duct system into the rooms.
These units treat air and surfaces. They do not repair a leaking duct, unload a clogged filter or balance a room that gets too little airflow, so they work best on a duct system that has already been sealed and cleaned. Call the shop and a tech will tell you which one, if any, suits your house.

Signs a house has a duct problem
None of these proves anything alone. Two or three together usually point to the ducts.
- Dust comes back on the furniture a few days after you have cleaned it.
- One or two rooms never match the thermostat, however long the system runs.
- The filter loads up grey in a few weeks, not a few months.
- The registers are furred with lint, or the ducts whistle and rattle when the blower starts.
- The house smells of last night's dinner or of a stuffy attic when the system kicks on.
