The repairs that cannot wait
Some plumbing problems can sit for a weekend and some cannot. A leak under a sink can hold until morning with a bucket and the stop closed. A pipe that sprays, a toilet that overflows, a water heater dumping onto the floor or a drain that backs up into a tub cannot. Water finds the lowest point and the softest material, and it takes drywall, flooring and cabinet bases with it.
Old supply lines and connectors fail too, usually at the fitting, not in the middle of the pipe. Corroded galvanized runs lose flow long before they leak. In the Tri-Cities, hard water scales the inside of pipes and freezing snaps split lines in garages, crawlspaces and exterior walls, so a lot of repair calls trace back to one of those two.

How A-One approaches a repair call
We start by asking what you have seen and heard, then look before we touch anything. The plumber shuts off the water at the fixture stop or the main shutoff, finds the failed section or part, and explains what it is. Then we talk about the options: a repair that fixes the part, and where it applies, a larger repair that fixes the reason the part failed.
Repairs use fittings and pipe that match what is already in the wall. Copper, PEX and threaded steel each get joined the way that material wants to be joined, with clean cuts and properly supported runs. We turn the water back on and check every joint. The plumbers also handle sewer line inspection and repair, pipe repair and replacement, and toilet repair and installation.

Pipe age and knowing when to repipe
One repair is a repair. Three repairs in a year on the same run is a conversation. Galvanized steel in older homes closes up from the inside, and older copper can pinhole where the water is hardest on it. When a system behaves like that, patching each failure as it comes can cost more in disruption than a planned replacement.
A-One does complete home repiping, and we will say plainly when a repair is enough and when a section or the whole house is worth replacing. After any repair, watch the spot for a day, check under sinks and around the water heater, and call us if a stain or a smell shows up. Knowing your main shutoff early makes every later problem smaller.
